8D7N Scandinavian Midnight Sun Experience (Sweden & Norway)

Itinerary:
DAY 1: Arrival at Stockholm airport. Airport transfer. Check in at hotel. Welcome to the capital city of Sweden!
DAY 2: Stockholm – Kiruna by night train
Have a relaxed morning and later take the SIC/small group walking city tour and visit Stockholm City Hall, Sergel Square, Old Town (Gamla Stan – is one of the largest and best-preserved medieval city centers in Europe). Discover Nobel Museum, explore Royal palace and see changing of guards ceremony. Visit the famous Vasa museum and get to know about the history of this warship.
In evening, transfer to station to catch your train to Kiruna.
DAY 3: Kiruna
In morning, welcome to the arctic capital city of Swedish Lapland, Kiruna! Kiruna's extraordinary industrial and cultural story unfolds today. Morning brings a guided group descent into LKAB's Iron Mine — Europe's largest underground iron ore mine — where you'll learn how the entire town of Kiruna is being physically relocated 3 kilometres to allow the mine's expansion.
Midnight sun picnic - We travel by minibus and walk along the mountain Luossavaaras east side. After the path up to the mountain there is much to see and experience in terms of nature (flora, fauna, geology), history of the mine and facts about the future of the city. On the top we have the best view to see the midnight sun, there we enjoy a cup of coffee/tea with light snacks.
DAY 4: Kiruna
Day excursion to Abisko - Admire the scenery along the drive from Kiruna to Abisko. During the tour, we will take a walk along the spectacular canyon, as well as a visit to Silver Fall near Björkliden. For millennia, the area has been home to the Sami who followed herds of wilds between the forest land and the mountains. We enjoy the fantastic view over the mountain Lapporten and the impressive lake, Torneträsk. In Abisko we go down to Abiskojokka, a magnificient canyon with dramatic nature. We continue towards Björkliden and visit one of the biggest waterfalls in Rákkasjohka, the silver falls.
DAY 5: Kiruna to Lofoten Island by private car
Private transfer from Kiruna to Lofoten Islands by car. Welcome to one of the most beautiful archipelago of Northern Norway, Lofoten Islands. Check in hotel and relax.
DAY 6: Lofoten Island
Day at leisure.
Midnight sun easy hike: Our evening excursions will take you to thoughtfully chosen spots, each boasting breathtaking views bathing in the glow of the midnight sun. Walk along white-sand beaches, listen to the sound of the ocean waves, and explore the Midnight Sun and surrounding nature in all its glory. We will drive you to the Atlantic side of Lofoten, where the sun shows itself in all its beauty and splendor. From here you will start the hike up on the mountain of Hoven or Tjelbergtinden.
Optional: Sea Eagle Safari to Trollfjorden: A trip made for nature enthusiasts! You get the chance to see sea eagles and experience some of the most scenic landscapes in Lofoten. The tour starts from the quayside in Svolvær. We will take you through Raftsundet before we enter Trollfjorden. This is some of the most dramatic scenery that Norway has to offer. There is a large population of sea eagles in the area, and one of the highlights is without a doubt when a sea eagle circles a few meters above your head.
DAY 7: Lofoten
Lofoten Islands Highlights: Our host will guide you through the picturesque landscape by minivan, typical for the Lofoten islands. Along the way we stop at historical sites, beaches and the mandatory photo stops that you cannot miss in Kabelvåg, Lyngvær, Hov and Henningsvær. You can sit back in a comfortable van and enjoy the scenery while we introduce you to the fishing culture and history, plus a taste of Lofoten. Whether you choose to wander on your own to absorb the never-ending horizon or let the guide tell you stories about the way of life on the coast, we are sure you will enjoy.
DAY 8: Departure
Transfer to Svolvaer airport. Your Scandinavian Midnight Sun Adventure ends here!
