Day by Day Program 

 

Day 1: Arrive in Paro, and transfer to Thimphu 

Your adventure begins upon arrival in Paro, where you will be warmly welcomed with a traditional Tashi Khadar ceremony, symbolizing goodwill and auspiciousness. After this heartfelt greeting, you will be transferred to Thimphu, the capital city. As you travel, take in the picturesque scenery of lush valleys and towering mountains, setting the stage for the days ahead.

Day 2: Exploring Thimphu 

On your second day, you'll dive into the cultural heart of Bhutan. Begin at Buddha Point, where a massive statue of Buddha Dordenma offers stunning views of the valley below. 

Next, visit the National Memorial Chorten, a beautiful stupa built in honor of the third king of Bhutan. Then, head to the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan's national animal, the Takin. 

Your exploration continues at Zorig Chosum, a school dedicated to the traditional arts of Bhutan, where you'll see artisans at work. 

Afterward, visit the Folk Heritage Museum to learn about traditional Bhutanese life and customs. 

Don't miss the Jungshi Paper Factory, where handmade paper is crafted using ancient techniques, and the Bhutan Post Office, where you can create unique stamps featuring your own photos. 

Finally, conclude your day at the magnificent Thimphu Dzong, an architectural marvel that houses the monastic body and serves as the administrative center.

 Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha 

On the third day, embark on a scenic drive from Thimphu to Punakha, with a stop at Dochula Pass. Here, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the Himalayan mountains and the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, built in honor of the Bhutanese soldiers who lost their lives in a conflict. 

Upon arriving in Punakha, visit the spectacular Punakha Dzong, often considered the most beautiful dzong in Bhutan. Nestled at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, it's a stunning example of traditional Bhutanese architecture. 

Take a leisurely stroll across the Suspension Bridge for breathtaking views of the river and valley. You'll also visit Chimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple dedicated to the Divine Madman, where couples seek blessings for children

 Day 4: Punakha to Gangtey 

On your fourth day, journey to Gangtey, known for its striking Phobjikha Valley. 

This glacial valley is a winter home for the endangered Black-Necked Cranes, and vou'll visit the Black-Necked Crane Center to learn about their conservation efforts. 

Explore the tranquil surroundings before heading to Gangtey Goenpa, a beautiful monastery that offers insight into the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. 

The day will conclude with a visit to Gangtey Monastery, where you can experience the peaceful ambiance and perhaps witness local monks in prayer.

Day 5: Gangtey to Paro 

After soaking in the serene beauty of Gangtey, you'll make your way back to Paro. 

Your first stop will be Ta Dzong, originally built as a watchtower and now serving as the National Museum of Bhutan. 

Here, you'll discover a rich collection of artifacts and exhibitions that showcase Bhutan's history and culture. Next, visit the impressive Paro Dzong, a fortress-monastery that plays a key role in Bhutan's spiritual and administrative life. 

Finally, explore Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, believed to have been built in the 7th century, and admire its intricate architecture and tranquil gardens.

Day 6: The Iconic Tiger's Nest 

No trip to Bhutan is complete without a visit to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). Perched dramatically on a cliffside 3,000 meters above sea level, this sacred site is a marvel of architecture and spirituality. 

The hike to the monastery offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, and once inside, you'll feel the serenity that has drawn pilgrims for centuries.

Day 7: Departure from Paro
