You’ll find incredible experiences and fun things to do all across Port Stephens. There are adventures on the water (and beneath it), on vast sand dunes and in spectacular national parks.

On the water

Discover 26 golden and white sand beaches in Port Stephens. Surf on NSW’s longest beach, watch the sun rise over the ocean, take a stand-up paddle board lesson on a tranquil bay and snorkel in the clear waters off shore.

One of the highlights of a visit to Port Stephens is the chance to swim with wild dolphins on a tour with Dolphin Swim Australia. During winter, Port Stephens is also a top spot for whale watching. Join a cruise with Imagine Cruises or Moonshadow - TQC.

Stockton Bight sand dunes

Part of the Worimi Conservation Lands, the largest moving coastal sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere are an adventure playground. Explore them on a quad bike or camel, join a 4WD tour or climb to the top and test out your sandboarding skills.

On the land

Tomaree National Park covers a huge area of the Port Stephens peninsula. Follow winding trails through the coastal forest and look out for koalas hiding among the greenery. Hike to the top of Tomaree Head for incredible views out over the coastline and as far as Cabbage Tree and Boondelbah islands.

Family fun

Kids will love the chance to pet sharks and learn about their world from the experts at Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters. Ride mountain bikes through the forest, learn to surf at one of the calm beaches or take a horse riding lesson on the region’s scenic trails.
