Brief introduction of the single-day itinerary:
Bruny Island
After breakfast, we will go to Kettering and take a ferry to Bruny Island. Bruny Island is a premier island in Tasmania. The North and South Bruny Islands are connected by a narrow strip of beach (The Neck). You can overlook the 360-degree panoramic view of Adventure Bay from the observation deck. Bruny Island is famous for its delicious food and fine wine. You can taste fresh oysters at your own expense at The Shucked, or taste handmade cow's milk cheese and sheep's milk cheese at Bruny Island Cheese Co at your own expense. Guests who want to go on a sea adventure can also choose to participate in the three-hour Pennicott Wilderness Journeys cruise at their own expense ($175 per person. The price is subject to change without prior notice. Please refer to the actual price on the day). The thrilling sea cruise will bring you an unforgettable experience of quickly passing through caves, cliffs and sea cliffs. At the same time, you can admire many wild animals or seals on the sea, and if you are lucky, you can see dolphins and whales.
Maria Island (Entrance fee: approx $54 per person): Ferry - Painted Cliffs - Fossil Cliffs - Darlington Historic Site
Maria Island is located on the east coast of Tasmania. It is a picturesque national park renowned for its pristine natural scenery, abundant wildlife, and long-standing historical relics. You will depart from Triabunna Wharf and take a ferry for about 30 minutes to reach Maria Island. There are no motor vehicles on the island, and hiking and cycling are the main ways to explore it. It has a series of charming attractions, including dreamy white sandy beaches, unique Painted Cliffs, Fossil Bay, and lush rainforests, allowing you to indulge in the embrace of nature. Due to the characteristics of ferry ticket sales, the tour guide will not go to the island with you. Please feel free to explore this beautiful island.
Hobart City HOBART
In the morning, visit Mount Wellington, which offers a magnificent view of "seeing all the mountains beneath one's feet". On the way down the mountain, visit the exterior of Cascade Brewery, the oldest brewery in Australia. At noon, head to Salamanca Square. It used to be a gathering place for sailors, whalers and craftsmen, and now it is the cultural center of Hobart. There are many art galleries, theaters, cafes, handicraft shops and restaurants here. The Salamanca Market every Saturday is the most popular open-air market in Hobart, where you can buy locally produced organic fruits, vegetables, flowers, fine wines, exquisite local artworks and handicrafts. Then go to the beautiful town of Richmond to start the journey of "Australia's best" (the oldest bridge and Catholic church in Australia still in existence), as if indulging in a British town about 200 years ago.
Port Arthur – Four Wonders - Tasman Arch – Devils Kitchen – Blow Hole – Tessellated Pavement
In the morning, go to the Port Arthur Historic Site (entrance fee at your own expense). It is located on the Tasman Peninsula in Tasmania and is the best-preserved prison historic site in Australia, listed as a World Heritage Site by Australia. The cultural history of Port Arthur and the beautiful scenery of the Tasman Peninsula have become one of the most famous tourist attractions in Tasmania. Tourists can take a harbor cruise in Port Arthur, and the captain will introduce the terrible and interesting stories that happened on the island (the cruise is about 25 minutes). On the way, we will also visit the famous natural wonders of the Tasman Peninsula, such as the Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Blow Hole (the blowing phenomenon depends on the weather, etc.) and Tessellated Pavement, and visit the beautiful scenery of the Tasman Peninsula in Pirate Bay.
Wineglass Bay
Wineglass Bay in Tasmania is a fascinating coastal resort with intoxicating natural beauty. This tranquil bay is located on the east coast of Tasmania and is famous for its unique shape, resembling an elegant wine glass. Wineglass Bay is considered one of the most beautiful bays in Australia, with its clear blue waters complementing the surrounding pristine coastline, creating a charming scenery. Tourists can stroll on the soft white sandy beach and enjoy the blue sea and the magnificent skyline. On the way, we will make a short stop at the charming coastal town of Swansea, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the east coast of Tasmania on your own and fully appreciate the charm of the coastline. Please note that for the sake of driving safety, our tour guide will not accompany you on the mountain.
Cradle Mountain – Sheffield Mural Town
After breakfast, go to Cradle Mountain, which is named for its mountain range that resembles a cradle. It is a famous scenic spot within the Tasmanian Forest Reserve and is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Along the rugged and winding mountains, you can see glacial lakes and rich wildlife. The mountains here rise and fall, and the weather changes frequently. Stroll through the primeval forest and enjoy the baptism of Dove Lake. You may also see cute wombats on the trail. Next, go to Sheffield Mural Town. The town was built in the 19th century and is now famous for its murals, attracting a large number of travelers every year. Murals can be seen everywhere in the town, so it has the reputation of the "Town of Murals". The town holds a mural competition every year, and the winning works voted by the townspeople will be displayed in the park. It is worth mentioning that Chinese celebrities such as Eason Chan, Li Chen, Zhang Xinyu and Zhou Bohao have left their masterpieces in the town.
Launceston – Wetland Park – Swiss Village – Cataract Gorge
At 9 am, the Chinese tour guide at the hotel will receive the guests after they have breakfast and prepare to explore Launceston, the second largest city in Tasmania. Launceston is famous for its numerous Victorian-style buildings, exuding an atmosphere of long history. Next, they will go to Cataract Gorge, which is just a few minutes' drive from the city center. There is a pedestrian suspension bridge across the river built in 1904, charming Victorian gardens, and the world's longest single-cable chairlift (extra charge required), as well as trails built along the cliffs and other scenic spots. After visiting the gorge, they will go to a unique small village - Swiss Cultural Village. There are small wooden houses with high pointed roofs and white exterior walls, which is a highly recommended tourist attraction around Launceston.
When the lavender is in full bloom in summer (from early December to early January each year), the tour guide will also take the guests to a well-known lavender farm (entrance fee at their own expense). During this season, guests can immerse themselves in the purple sea of flowers and listen to the buzzing of bees. Tourists can buy exquisite lavender teddy bears and taste the local characteristic lavender ice cream. At about 3:30 pm, the tour guide will send the guests leaving Launceston to the airport, ending your Tasmanian tour.
