Day 1: Brisbane to Stanthorpe with option a stopover at Kooroomba Vineyards and Lavender Farm.

 

  • Drive from Brisbane to Stanthorpe via Boonah via State Route 93.
  • A stopover at Kooroomba Vineyards and Lavender Farm. Take some time to explore the farm, enjoy a wine tasting, and purchase some lavender products.
  • Arrive in Stanthorpe and check in to accommodation.

 

Day 2: Explore Stanthorpe

 

  • Start your day with a visit to the Stanthorpe Heritage Museum. Spend about an hour exploring the museum's exhibits, which tell the story of Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt region from its early days as a gold mining town to its current status as a wine-growing region.
  • Indulge in the Granite Belt's renowned wine scene by embarking on a wine tasting experience at one of the region's esteemed wineries. With over 50 wineries to choose from, your palate is in for a delightful treat. Popular options include Granite Belt Winery, Balancing Heart Vineyard, and Heritage Estate Winery.
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the many cafes or restaurants in the region. Some popular options include The Barrelroom in Ballandean, Seventh Wines in Ballandean, and Granite Belt Brewery in Stanthorpe.
  • Drive to Sutton's Apple Farm, Cidery & The Shed Café in Thulimbah for some delicious apple pie and cider, head to Stanthorpe Cheese for a quick cheese tasting and do stopover at Jamworks Gourmet Foods Café & Larder for some delicious jams and conserves. Day 3: Stanthorpe to Toowoomba

  • Drive from Stanthorpe to Toowoomba passing Warwick and Allora.
  • In summer, take a detour to see the sunflower fields that bloom beautifully from late December onwards.
  • Go for a walk in the Toowoomba Botanic Gardens, which are home to a variety of plants and flowers, as well as a number of sculptures and fountains.
