10D9N Tasmania Grand Circle  ( Self Drive )  


DAY 1: Arrive in Hobart 

Collect your vehicle on arrival in Hobart. The rest  of the day is at leisure to explore Hobart including Constitution Dock, Salamanca Place and Battery Point

DAY 2: Hobart-Strahan ( 300 KM )

Travel across the heart of Tasmania through the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Stop in Queenstown then continue on to the quiet town of Strahan, situated on Macquarie Harbour 


DAY 3: Strahan to Cradle Mountain National Park (159km ) 

This morning take an optional cruise along the Gordon River before travellingnorth to Zeehan, a booming mining town in the early 1900s. The CradleMountain- Lake St Clair National Park is renowned for its walking trackswith spectacular mountain peaks and lakes.


DAY 4:  Cradle Mountain National Park 

Time at leisure to explore Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Parkincluding many walks and spectacular scenery 


DAY 5: Cradle Mountain National Park to Launceston (153km)

Depart Cradle Mountain and travel east to Mole Creek. Along the way visitMarakoopa Cave with its glow worm display. Continue on to Launcestonand visit Cataract Gorge.


DAY 6: Launceston to St Helens (169km) 

Depart Launceston and travel to Scottsdale. Near Pyengana take a walk toSt Columba Falls and pick up some local cheese. Continue east to thesmall bayside town of St Helens, a fishing port known for its crayfish. VisitThe Gardens and the Bay of Fires Coastal Reserves near Binalong Bay forstunning beaches.


DAY 7: St Helens to Freycinet National Park (115km)

Travel through the towns of Scamander and St Marys, before stopping forpancakes at Elephant Pass. Or take the coast road from Falmouth to Chain ofLagoons. Stop at the small resort town of Bicheno before continuing souththrough Coles Bay to Freycinet National Park.


DAY 8: Freycinet National Park 

Time at leisure today to explore all that Freycinet National Park has tooffer including abundant wildlife, a variety of walking trails andspectacular beaches like Wineglass Bay


DAY 9 :  Freycinet National Park to Hobart (377km )

Depart Freycinet and perhaps make a stop near Swansea at one of thelocal wineries or berry farm. Cross the Derwent River to reach Hobart onthe Tasman Highway. If time permits, travel back to Hobart via the historicvillage of Richmond, with many treasures of Tasmania’s colonial past. 


DAY 10: Hobart 

The car is booked until today and should be dropped off at the city orairport by the same time as it was picked up on day 1 to avoid anyadditional charges.
